Stephanie McCann

After completing her degree in Applied Health/Kinesiology, Stephanie went on to pursue a successful career in Track & Field for Canada. It was during her 7 years as an elite athlete that Stephanie discovered her passion for helping others with a focus on health and wellness.
 
Stephanie has trained with STOTT Pilates in both mat and Reformer and continues to take courses. She has experienced numerous injuries during her career as a pole vaulter and therefore is focused on continuing her education more specifically towards rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Stephanie is embarking on a new phase of her life and is committed to the health and well being of all her clients.

Marlene Amado

Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor

Marlene’s love of movement began at a young age, first, through dance, then competitive running and cycling.  Her enthusiasm for fitness and health led her to teaching. She has extensive experience facilitating movement with individuals and groups initially becoming an Instructor Trainer with the BC Recreation and Parks Association in 1994 then becoming a certified personal trainer in 2001. Injury led her to discover the benefits of pilates. After becoming certified in STOTT matwork in 2004 and continuing to teach, Marlene has re-discovered the quality and movement potential of the body through pilates.  

She recently completed her BA at UBC and continues to be a student by attending workshops to refine her understanding of the pilates method. Her style incorporates Long Beach Dance Conditioning workshop training.  She is also influenced by Laban movement theory. Marlene’s technical understanding of physiology and anatomy lays the foundation for classes. Her teaching focus is on the discovery of new ways of movement that will invigorate and challenge the body, mind and spirit.

Tara Wilson
Certified Pilates Instructor
 

Tara has been practicing Pilates for over 4 years.   As a professional dancer and choreographer she credits Pilates specifically, for helping her with her injuries - regaining strength when injured, as well as preventing future injuries.

Tara’s interests in body movement and health, led to her studies in Human Kinetics at UBC where she is currently completing her degree in the Health and Fitness Field.  She is certified as a Mat Pilates instructor through the Canadian Pilates Institute.

Tara’s focus is to increase the knowledge and physical awareness of each student, helping them to maximize their personal potential, achieve their goals, and increase their quality of life. Her attention to detail and professional experience, will translate into your benefit.

Jen Corrigan

Certified Personal Trainer
Core Challenge Instructor

For the past ten years Jen has developed fitness classes and rehabilitation programs for clients of all levels and abilities. With a bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a fun, high-energy approach to her classes and training sessions.  She continually attends fitness workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest fitness trends and firmly believes that great health is attainable through proper nutrition a positive outlook and a well balanced exercise program.

With over a decade of group fitness experience, Jen has learned a wide variety of exercises and class styles which help her develop unique and challenging fitness programs and classes.  After rehabbing plenty of her own sports injuries, she understands the importance of training the body back to full strength and incorporating preventative exercises in programs to avoid future injury. The most rewarding part of her job is watching the positive progression of her participants and clients as they strive towards optimal health.

Tomas Hicks has been practicing Hatha, Ashtanga and Restorative Yoga for nearly ten years. Yoga is about connecting to our deep and true selves through conscious movement from our core and married to our life force and breath, prana. Classes are structured to be fun, light, and deeply transformative physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The ultimate goal is to live Yoga on and off the mat, bringing peace to our Earth and us.

Namchi's diverse background in dance, Pilates, yoga and anatomy gives her a unique approach to physical training. She is a graduate of the Department of Contemporary Dance from Concordia University and a certified Pilates Instructor for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Chair from the Structural Studies Institute in Montreal.

Namchi works to maximize each person's potential and physical awareness through conscious action.
