Amado
She recently completed her
BA at UBC and continues to be a student by attending workshops to refine her
understanding of the pilates method. Her style incorporates Long Beach Dance
Conditioning workshop training. She is also influenced by Laban movement
theory. Marlene’s technical understanding of physiology and anatomy lays the
foundation for classes. Her teaching focus is on the discovery of new ways of
movement that will invigorate and challenge the body, mind and spirit.
Tara has been practicing Pilates for over 4 years. As a professional dancer and choreographer she credits Pilates specifically, for helping her with her injuries - regaining strength when injured, as well as preventing future injuries. Tara’s interests in body movement and health, led to her studies in Human Kinetics at UBC where she is currently completing her degree in the Health and Fitness Field. She is certified as a Mat Pilates instructor through the Canadian Pilates Institute. Tara’s focus is to increase the knowledge and physical awareness of each student, helping them to maximize their personal potential, achieve their goals, and increase their quality of life. Her attention to detail and professional experience, will translate into your benefit. Training and Certifications:
For the past ten years Jen has developed fitness classes and rehabilitation programs for clients of all levels and abilities. With a bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a fun, high-energy approach to her classes and training sessions. She continually attends fitness workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest fitness trends and firmly believes that great health is attainable through proper nutrition a positive outlook and a well balanced exercise program. With over a decade of group fitness experience, Jen has learned a wide variety of exercises and class styles which help her develop unique and challenging fitness programs and classes. After rehabbing plenty of her own sports injuries, she understands the importance of training the body back to full strength and incorporating preventative exercises in programs to avoid future injury. The most rewarding part of her job is watching the positive progression of her participants and clients as they strive towards optimal health. Certifications & Qualifications:

Yoga Instructor Tomas Hicks has been practicing
Hatha, Ashtanga and Restorative Yoga for nearly ten years. Yoga is about
connecting to our deep and true selves through conscious movement from our core
and married to our life force and breath, prana. Classes are structured to be
fun, light, and deeply transformative physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Namchi
Bazar - currently on maternity leave Namchi's
diverse background in dance, Pilates, yoga and anatomy gives her a
unique approach to physical training. She is a graduate of the
Department of Contemporary Dance from Concordia University and a
certified Pilates Instructor for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Chair from
the Structural Studies Institute in Montreal.
